Congratulations to Dr. Alison Wright on her appointment as the new President of the RCOG.

We are delighted to announce that Dr Alison Wright has been elected as the next President of the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists and will take up office in December 2025.

Commenting on her appointment, Dr Wright, said:

“I am beyond delighted to have been elected to the esteemed position of President of the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists. The support I have received from colleagues around the UK, Ireland, and globally, has been incredible.

“This is a huge honour, and with that, comes a huge responsibility, to serve the Members and Fellows of this College, and to improve women’s health and maternity care in the UK and around the world. I take the responsibility very seriously, and look forward to rising to the challenge."

RCOG President Professor Ranee Thakar said:

“It is an incredible privilege to lead our College and to be the ambassador for obstetricians and gynaecologists across the globe, and I offer my warmest congratulations to Alison on becoming our next President.”
