The BSUG hosted a dedicated session at the RCOG World Congress 2025.

The British Society of Urogynaecology (BSUG) was proud to host a dedicated session at the RCOG World Congress 2025, bringing together experts from across the globe to explore key developments in pelvic floor surgery and urogynecological care.

Chaired by Dr Ivilina Pandeva (Cambridge University Hospital and chair of BSUG meetings committee ) and Mr Dudley Robinson (King’s College Hospital and Vice President of IUGA), the session opened with a presentation from Professor Anna Rosamilia, Head of the Pelvic Floor Unit at Monash Health and current President of IUGA. Professor Rosamilia presented on autologous fascia lata versus polypropylene mesh, offering a scientific and biomechanical comparison that set the tone for a high-level academic discussion.

This was followed by Professor Vik Khullar (Imperial College London), who addressed the complex and evolving topic of managing resistant urinary tract infections, sharing evidence-based strategies and research into the immunological links behind recurrent symptoms.

Concluding the session, Mr Ashish Pradhan, BSUG Chair and Consultant Urogynaecologist at Cambridge University Hospitals, provided an update on service development in urogynecology and the latest on mesh-related pathways and governance in the UK.

The session closed with a lively panel discussion and audience Q&A, reinforcing BSUG’s commitment to collaborative learning, innovation, and the advancement of urogynecology both nationally and internationally.
