The BSUG Associates Database has been developed to enable trainees in Obstetrics and Gynaecology and Allied Health Professionals to keep a record of procedures in which they are involved.
Not only is it specifically tailored to the needs of those training in urogynaecology, it also allows users to record procedures relevant to the core obstetrics & gynaecology curriculum, including benign gynaecology surgeries, as well as procedures in obstetrics and ultrasound. As a result, it is relevant for, and can be utilised by, trainees of every grade, from ST1 onwards.
It facilitates the creation and maintenance of a surgical logbook and captures information particularly relevant for training, including the level of supervision required for each procedure, the complexity of the case, complications encountered, and the time taken to perform the procedure.
The Database also allows reports to be produced which are invaluable for appraisals and annual reviews of competence, as well as personal reflection on progress.
The Database can be accessed online from home or at work, on computers and mobile devices. Although the format is very similar, it is completely separate from the main BSUG Audit Database and no patient identifiable information is recorded.
All of these features render it an extremely useful tool to aid training, and avoid duplication of work for trainees, creating a single, appropriate and applicable logbook.

The Database is available to all Trainee and Associate members of BSUG - not just those who are doing Advanced Training Skills Modules (ATSM) or Sub-Specialty Training in Urogynaecology.
If you are not a member of BSUG, but would like to join click here.
To register to use the BSUG Trainees Database - or if you have any problems - please email Amanda King aking@rcog.org.uk
We hope you find it useful and would encourage all those training in urogynaecology to make use of the service.
