BSUG: Welcomes new membership category - Allied Health Professionals

28th November 2023

The British Society of Urogynaecology advocates and promotes the role of the multi-disciplinary team in the management of women with pelvic floor dysfunction, however until now, we have not had nurses, midwives, physiotherapists, allied health professionals and clinical scientists as members of the society.

We invited Angela Rantell, Consultant Nurse, Urogynaecology at King’s College Hospital, to undertake a scoping exercise to explore what BSUG could offer the other healthcare professionals in our MDTs and what the benefits of membership of a specialist society could be. Many of our colleagues completed a questionnaire and participated in focus groups.

We are delighted to announce that this work has come to fruition, and we have a new membership category for nurses/AHPs - Allied Health Professionals.

Angie has kindly agreed to set up and chair the new committee for the first term. We would be grateful if you can forward this invitation to the healthcare professionals working in your MDTs and encourage them to join us as BSUG members.

The membership fee for the Allied Health Professional membership category with be £60/year without IUGA membership and £115 with IUGA. We are offering the membership for the first year for £40 for BSUG only and £95 for membership with IUGA to all those who join before 1st April 2024.

If they click the link below they will directed to a membership page that will detail all the benefits of membership. Nurses and AHPs join here. £40 for BSUG only (use code intro) and £95 for membership with IUGA (use code introiuga).
